The SIDGE Opportunities Program exposes faith-based enterprises to the opportunities in AI.
What is SIDGE?
The Center for Social Impact, Development, and Global Engagement (SIDGE) is a program of the NorcalMLK Foundation, and our goal is to make ethics the guide in all products and services run by Artificial Intelligence. We accomplish this practical purpose with validation, training, and investments. SIDGE is a partner in a national organization developing validation tools to mark whether a new AI offering on the market meets the ethical standards of people in local communities. We create and invest in cutting-edge solutions in the generative space.
Our vision is to make ethics the touchstone throughout the AI ecosystem. In this process, SIDGE contributes to widening the ownership of wealth especially for established, faith-based enterprises seeking more resources to better their communities and the constituents they serve.
The SIDGE Opportunities Program - SIDGE_OP
Our aim is to disrupt the way we think about AI by first centering human responsibility in the thriving world of mutual connection and shared opportunity. Second, we believe that by informing LLMs (Large Language Models) with the context of our lived experiences (“thick” data) we can help to mold today’s and tomorrow’s generative AI ecosystems. And, third, we think that through “thicker” data, fresh ingenuity and our passion for innovation, we can build better products and drive more effective, beneficial, and profitable generative outcomes.
This is where our local, faith-based enterprises (FBEs) come in. There are opportunities in AI that are uniquely beneficial to FBEs. SIDGE_OP provides tools to help enable:

SIDGE_OP Module
- Session 1 - Introduction: We get to know each other, the expectations for the program and review the basics of AI;
- Session 2 - AI and its Connectivity: We will discuss how AI is relevant in the FBE environment;
- Session 3 - AI Opportunities: We will discuss AI's usefulness to FBEs and the opportunities available to make it better while also empowering FBE's communities;
- Session 4 - AI Integration: We will review and provide training to help make AI a responsible technology to benefit the FBE community.
The modules will be lead by the SIDGE_OP team and partners, who represent the leaders in each of these fields.
