BCAF hosted the Diversity and Comics: Multimodal Media and Comics panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

NorcalMLK's Aaron Grizzell moderated a very interesting conversation at San Diego Comic-Con, with David F. Walker (Naomi, DC; Bitter Root, Legendary Pictures | Image Comics), Marco Finnegan (Lizard in a Zoot Suit, Graphic Universe | Lerner; The Keeper, Megascope), Angela Sanchez (From Cocinas to Lucha Libre Ringsides: Latinographix Stories of Sports, Food & Madness; Writer for Disney TV Animation), and Stanford Carpenter (Black & Brown Comix Arts Festival; University of Chicago Oriental Institute), on how the construction of various modes of communication and information transfer have been affecting and socializing our culture and how comics and illustrated stories are powerful tools of visual communication and expression.
