The 2023 Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Evensong brings together the interfaith community in celebration of the life and vision of Dr. King.
This year's Evensong includes Dr. Tracey E. Hucks, the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Africana Religious Studies at Harvard Divinity School and the Suzanne Young Murray Professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Dr. Raymond Carr, director of the “Codex Charles H. Long Papers Project” at the Moses Mesoamerican Archive and Research Project at Harvard University and visiting professor at Harvard Divinity School, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Marc Handley Andrus, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California, The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, Dean of Grace Cathedral, Rev. Dr. Sakena Young-Scaggs, Sr. Associate Dean of religious and Spiritual Life at Stanford University and Pastor of Stanford Memorial Church, Aaron Grizzell, Executive Director of the Northern California Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Foundation, and special musical offerings from the a cappella group Stanford Talisman.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Evensong delivers reflections of beloved community and features perspectives from interfaith leaders in honor of Dr. King. The evensong takes place annually on the Sunday afternoon before the Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday.
